By Road: You can go to Kuakata by direct bus from Dhaka. Some well-known bus services like Hanif, Sakura and Eagle offer regular trips. The bus journey takes around 10 to 12 hours.

By Sea: You can take a launch (passenger boat) from Dhaka to Barisal or Patuakhali and then go to Kuakata by road. It takes 8 hours to go to Barisal by water, then it takes 4 hours to go to Kuakata.

By Air: Although Kuakata does not have an airport, you can fly from Dhaka to Barisal and take a bus or private car to Kuakata. The flight takes about 40 minutes and the road journey from Barisal to Kuakata takes about 4 hours.

By Bus: A non-AC bus ticket costs around Rs 700 to Rs 900, whereas an AC bus ticket can cost Rs 1200 to Rs 1500 per person.


By launch: Launch fare from Dhaka to Barisal is around Tk 500 to Tk 2000, depending on the class (deck, economy or cabin). Bus fare from Barisal to Kuakata is 200 to 400 taka.

By Air: A flight from Dhaka to Barisal costs 3000 to 5000 taka per person, and a bus fare from Barisal to Kuakata is around 300 taka.
